Event Description

Turn an unplayable instrument into a work of art--and benefit the Youth Orchestras in doing so!

We supply the instrument, you supply the art.
Deadline for Applications: 11/27/11
Applications (available online at http://youthorchestrasfresno.org/content/painted-violin-project-2012) will be accepted through Sunday November 27. Applications include sketches of your designs. Multiple apps from a single artist are fine, though only one design per artist will be chosen.
Finalists
Ten finalists will be selected--names will be announced at the December 11 Bravos and Breadcrumbsconcert (Shaghoian Hall, Clovis North HS, 7pm). 
Completed artwork due March 1, 2012
Finished violins can be returned to the Youth Orchestras of Fresno (444 West Shaw Fresno 93704), or can be picked up by a Youth Orchestra representative, any time until March 1, 2012.
Gallery tour
Violins will tour local galleries, on display for the public to admire and desire.
Auction during Fresno International Youth Orchestra (FiYO) Festival Concert, Sunday May 27, 2012, 7pm, Saroyan Theatre.
Artists are invited to attend and enjoy not just the concert, but the fantastic reception their artwork receives.
