This week I was contacted by Marc Patterson, McLane ArtVenture Academy, about our involvement in the program. He was wondering if we would be interested in working with ArtVenture next year. He has offered to come present at our next business meeting.
For those of us that were involved in the project in 2006, my impression is that we were sometimes frustrated with the class structure but overall we found the experience to be quite rewarding. Personally, I really enjoyed my time working with the students.
So my question is this: Are we ready to make another commitment to this worthy cause?
Last week I received this email from Marc Patterson:
"Hi Katrina…thanks for allowing me to speak to your group the other week. I am thinking Friday August 14, in the evening for a meeting with mentors. This date is not firm. If there is another day, perhaps Wednesday the 12th, or Thursday the 13th , please let me know what would work best for yours and other possible mentors’ schedules. Most of our staff should be back at school for what we call Institute days for the dates mentioned in preparation for the opening of school on the 17th. Again thanks for your consideration and interest in our project. Marc Patterson"
This sounds like an "orientation" type meeting. Which date works best for you all (aka Lynn)? August 12, 13, or 14?
